Trust Regulator Participates in Meeting on Cambodia FinTech Development Policy Draft
The Director General of the Trust Regulator attended a working group meeting on the drafting of the Cambodia FinTech Development Policy, chaired by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The meeting reviewed progress toward the first draft and heard findings from an Asian Development Bank expert’s assessment of Cambodia’s fintech sector via Zoom.

General Department of Energy Reviews Technical Cooperation with IAEA for 2024–2029
The General Department of Energy of the Ministry of Mines and Energy led a Cambodian delegation to a meeting at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna from 20–24 February 2023. The discussions covered five proposed technical cooperation projects for 2024–2025, a draft Country Programme Framework for 2024–2029, support for national energy planning and efficiency, and cooperation under the IAEA Rays of Hope initiative for cancer treatment services at Calmette Hospital.

Ministry of Mines and Energy Meets German KfW on Power Transmission and Clean Energy
The Ministry of Mines and Energy held a working meeting with representatives of the German Development Bank KfW to discuss potential support for Cambodia’s power transmission network and electricity infrastructure. Discussions also covered participation in energy development and investment projects under the new Power Development Master Plan 2022–2040 and the National Energy Efficiency Policy 2022–2030.

Cambodia and UAE Launch Third-Round Negotiations on Comprehensive Economic Partnership
The Ministry of Commerce announced the opening of the third round of negotiations on the Cambodia–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in Dubai, scheduled from 20–22 February 2023. Both sides expressed their intention to conclude the negotiations in this round and highlighted the recent growth in bilateral trade.

Senate Commission Visits Bak Kheng Water Treatment Plant Construction Sites
The 9th Commission of the Senate conducted a field visit to review progress on the Bak Kheng raw water pumping station and water treatment plant, as well as associated main pipeline works under the Tonle Sap and along the Win-Win Boulevard. The delegation was led by the commission president and joined by senior officials from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, French and EU representatives, and development finance institutions.
