General Department of Immigration Deports 776 Vietnamese Nationals Linked to Online Scams
On 17 March 2026, the General Department of Immigration deported 776 Vietnamese nationals associated with online scam activities, following their arrest in Banteay Meanchey province. The group was removed via the international border checkpoints of Bavet in Svay Rieng and Trapeang Sre in Kratie under Cambodia’s strict legal measures against technology-driven crime.

Accounting Regulator Presents on Public Sector Accounting Standard 12 at Treasury Training
Representatives of the Accounting and Auditing Regulator presented Cambodian Public Sector Accounting Standard 12 on inventories at a training organized by the General Department of National Treasury on 18 March 2026. The three‑day training for officials from 10 ministries and institutions also covered prakas on implementing guidelines for inventories, fixed assets, and accounts payable.

Ministry of Justice Reviews Cloud-Based Document Transmission System
The Ministry of Justice convened a meeting led by Secretary of State Kim Santipheap to review and provide comments on a new system for rapid transmission of documents from judicial institutions to the General Department of Criminal Affairs via the Ministry’s cloud platform. The system was prepared by the technical working group for digitalization in response to a request from the General Department of Criminal Affairs.

SERC and U.S. Treasury Discuss Cooperation on Real-World Asset Tokenization
The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia held an online meeting with representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury to discuss cooperation and a technical assistance project on real-world asset tokenization for economic development. The U.S. side also confirmed plans for an assessment mission to Cambodia in May 2026 to evaluate specific needs with SERC and other stakeholders.
