MOWRAM inspected the near-completed drainage and water diversion subprojects serving Phnom Penh, including the Stueng Touch-Stueng Kram Bathi system and three pumping stations under the Cheung Ek main canal system. The works cover flood drainage infrastructure in Kampong Speu province and Phnom Penh.
MOWRAM conducted final inspections of three irrigation maintenance projects in Kampong Chhnang, Pailin, and Banteay Meanchey, covering embankment repair, canal restoration, and water-control structures. The project is part of local water supply and irrigation infrastructure for daily use and agricultural production.
MOWRAM conducted an on-site inspection of the Krang Teh agricultural irrigation development project in Mondulkiri province, a World Bank-financed water resources infrastructure project. The ministry said construction progress had reached about 15% and called for continued attention to technical standards, construction quality, and implementation speed.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, together with KOICA and K-Eximbank representatives, convened the first summary meeting on the feasibility study for an intervention project to supply water and reduce flooding in Prek Neul, part of the Vaiko river basin in Svay Rieng province. Participants reviewed the technical consultants’ initial findings and requested further refinement of the study before submission to K-Eximbank for consideration.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology conducted a technical inspection of routine operation and maintenance for the Vai Ko (Phase 1) irrigation system spanning four provinces and an anniversary rehabilitation of the Prek Me Khsay irrigation system in Prey Veng province. The works cover canal earthworks, hydraulic structures, and drainage facilities supporting wet and dry season irrigation over several thousand hectares of farmland.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology held a review meeting on the implementation progress of the IAIP irrigation sector improvement project with a delegation from the European Investment Bank headquarters. The discussion covered recent project performance and development partner support, including co-financing from EIB, ADB and the Government of Australia, and EU grant funding for the IAIP project.
