On 24 March 2026, Run To, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology and head of the ministry’s coordination team for water resources and meteorology work in Kratie province, conducted a field visit on behalf of Minister Thor Chetha to review irrigation conditions and emergency water pumping activities for rice cultivation in Kratie province.
The inspection covered three irrigation systems in Snuol district: the Chivorn dam irrigation system and the Memong O’Svay irrigation system in Srae Char commune, and the Prek Thlong irrigation system in Snuol commune.
During the same mission, the ministry also reviewed an emergency pumping intervention for 300 hectares of dry-season rice in Ksach Andaet commune, Chhloung district. According to the ministry, the operation was carried out through cooperation between the competent technical department and the Kratie provincial administration, using two 65-horsepower mobile water pumps, one floating station, and fuel support.
The ministry stated that farmers were advised to use water efficiently. Technical officials were also urged to closely inspect and manage water gates in order to preserve water sources for longer-term use and to continue monitoring climate conditions so that intervention measures and public information could be provided in a timely manner.
