On 25 January 2026, Hong Narith, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, led and coordinated a business networking meeting between private-sector representatives from Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
According to the ministry, the meeting was organized to strengthen private-sector cooperation, promote investment in agriculture, expand trade, and improve production chains for mutual benefit. Participants included Cambodian companies such as WorldBridge Group and Vireak Buntham, along with seven Lao companies engaged in agricultural import-export, agricultural production, livestock, and logistics services.
During the meeting, company representatives were encouraged to build contacts, exchange information, and explore business partnerships. The ministry also highlighted bilateral Cambodia–Laos cooperation and the role of private companies in agriculture, transport, agro-processing, agricultural trade, and import-export activities involving products such as beef, chicken, duck, eggs, longan, bananas, and durian.
The post further stated that attention was given to facilitating implementation of an agreement on the transport of Cambodian agricultural products through Laos to third-country markets, with a focus on China. The ministry said that this agreement had been signed earlier the same day during a bilateral meeting on agricultural cooperation between the agriculture ministers of the two countries.
