MAFF Signs MoUs With Sathapana Bank and Carbon Capital to Support Modern Agricultural Communities

On 20 January 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) signed memoranda of understanding with Sathapana Bank Plc. and Carbon Capital Co., Ltd. at the ministry’s headquarters. The signing ceremony was presided over by Minister Dith Tina and was presented as part of support for the priority policy program for modern agricultural communities.

According to MAFF, Sathapana Bank became the fifth partner bank to sign an MoU with the ministry to provide low-interest loans to modern agricultural communities. The bank will prepare a special financing package of US$3 million for community lending under suitable conditions.

MAFF also signed an MoU with Carbon Capital Co., Ltd., a company described as collecting pig farm manure for compost production with the aim of reducing carbon emissions, supplying high-quality compost, creating additional income for pig farmers, and conducting carbon credit business. Under the MoU, the company will contribute part of its revenue to support the Agricultural Community Development Fund.
