Background
Cambodia’s anti-drug enforcement system is led by the National Police and specialized anti-drug authorities that investigate trafficking, possession, transport, production, cultivation, facilitation, and drug use offenses. Daily enforcement reporting functions as an operational record of public security activity and shows how provincial police units and mixed forces participate in narcotics control.
Drug enforcement in Cambodia combines criminal investigation, suspect detention, seizure of narcotics, and execution of court warrants. Seizure data on methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, heroin, and precursor chemicals provides an official indication of the types of substances encountered by law enforcement and the geographic distribution of cases.
Key Developments
According to a summary report from the Anti-Drug Department of the General Commissariat of National Police, mixed competent forces cracked down on 63 cases nationwide on 1 April 2026. The cases involved trafficking, storage, transportation, cultivation, processing, arrangement, provision of locations, and use of drugs. Authorities detained 169 related suspects, including 10 women.
Total seized evidence was reported as 628.42 grams of methamphetamine (Ice), 12.0 grams of methamphetamine (Wy), 32.46 grams of ketamine, 209.15 grams of MDMA, 0.35 grams of heroin, and 16,056.61 grams of chemical substances.
By offense type, police reported 11 trafficking cases with 26 suspects detained, including 2 women; 23 transportation and storage cases with 44 suspects detained, including 4 women; and 29 drug use cases with 99 suspects detained, including 4 women.
Seven police units were reported as participating in the operations. In Battambang, authorities recorded one storage case with one suspect detained, and executed two warrants resulting in two arrests, with 5.19 grams of Ice seized. In Kampong Cham, authorities recorded one storage case with four suspects detained and 7.57 grams of Ice seized. Seized evidence in Preah Sihanouk included 599.04 grams of Ice, 12.0 grams of Wy, 32.46 grams of ketamine, 209.15 grams of MDMA, 0.35 grams of heroin, and 16,056.61 grams of chemical substances.
In Takeo, authorities recorded one storage case with one suspect detained and one warrant execution resulting in one arrest, with 2.26 grams of Ice seized. In Pailin, authorities recorded one storage case with four suspects detained, including one woman, and 2.26 grams of Ice seized.
Implications
The report provides a dated enforcement snapshot of Cambodia’s narcotics control activity and the provincial distribution of police operations. It is useful as a reference point for tracking enforcement intensity, offense patterns, and the concentration of seizures in specific localities, especially Preah Sihanouk.
The figures also indicate that public security authorities were addressing both supply-side offenses, such as trafficking and storage, and demand-side offenses related to drug use. The inclusion of warrant execution data shows that anti-drug operations were linked not only to field arrests but also to ongoing judicial enforcement processes.
