On 24 March 2026, the General Secretariat of the National Assembly organized a knowledge-sharing and experience-sharing workshop on digital technology for 50 leaders and civil servants from the General Department of Legislation and Research. The stated purpose was to strengthen staff capacity to keep pace with technological globalization and support the modernization of parliamentary work.

According to the National Assembly, the program was part of a broader civil service capacity-strengthening strategy. It was intended to improve the quality of decision-making and the provision of technical support services to the National Assembly through more modern, intelligent, and transparent administrative practices.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Hork Bunly, Deputy Director General of Legislation and Research, representing Kai Ketnin, Director General of the General Department of Legislation and Research.
Presentations by Lim Panhya and Khun Samphors focused on two strategic topics:
- Industry 4.0 and innovation management in institutions
- The future of artificial intelligence and data analysis in research and legislative work
During the event, Hork Bunly stated that AI and big data should be viewed not only as support tools but also as important drivers for the modernization of public administration. Participating officials were encouraged to apply the knowledge gained in their daily work, continue internal knowledge-sharing with colleagues, and prepare to adopt new technologies in support of the National Assembly’s e-parliament vision.
Implications for Administrative Governance
The workshop indicates an internal administrative effort within the National Assembly Secretariat to build digital skills among legislative and research officials.
