On 21–22 January 2026, Run To, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a field inspection of water resource conditions and dry-season rice cultivation activities in Kratie province on behalf of Minister Thor Chetha. The inspection was conducted with ministry technical officials and the provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology.
The working group reviewed several irrigation systems and also inspected the status of meteorological and hydrological stations in the province.
Inspected Sites
The inspection covered the following irrigation systems in Kratie province:

O Chhor dam irrigation system in Svay Chreah commune, Snoul district, serving 533 hectares of wet-season rice land and storing up to 3 million cubic meters of water.

Romleach irrigation system in Roka Kandal sangkat, Kratie city, serving 100 hectares of wet-season rice land and 750 hectares of dry-season rice land, with storage capacity of 5 million cubic meters.

Boeung Khnay Romeas irrigation system in Chroy Banteay commune, Prek Prasab district, serving 58 hectares of wet-season rice land and 670 hectares of dry-season rice land, with storage capacity of 3 million cubic meters.

Kok Mluor Lompnou irrigation system in Saob commune, Prek Prasab district, serving 950 hectares of wet-season rice land and 1,250 hectares of dry-season rice land, with storage capacity of 8 million cubic meters.
Operational Directions
During the visit, the Undersecretary of State advised farmers to use water economically. He also instructed the provincial department to monitor conditions and close water gates to retain water for irrigation use, with particular attention to climate change monitoring and preparation of public notices.
