On 23 January 2026, Bun Hean, Secretary of State and head of the project inspection unit of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a technical team and engineering department officials to inspect the progress of the reservoir dam construction project at Techo Sen Politechnic Institute in Trapeang Kranhoung Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province.
The inspection was conducted on behalf of Minister Thor Chetha. According to the ministry, the project had reached approximately 90% completion at the time of the visit.
Project Overview
The reservoir dam construction project began implementation on 6 October 2025. The main works include construction of a 12-meter-high reservoir dam with a 14-meter-wide crest and a total length of 130 meters.
The project also includes two hydraulic structures: one culvert and one spillway.
Current Progress
MOWRAM stated that overall construction progress had reached about 90% as of the inspection date. During the visit, the Secretary of State instructed the implementation team from the Engineering Department to continue work in accordance with technical standards and to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with the planned schedule.
Intended Use
According to the project team, the reservoir is intended to store water for daily use and to expand irrigation capacity for approximately 150 hectares of agricultural land. The project is expected to serve around 116 farming households in Trapeang Kranhoung village, Trapeang Kranhoung Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province.
