Cambodia Digital Driving License: Transport Licensing and Digital-ID Verification

Background

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications have announced the official rollout of a digital driving license that citizens can request through the DG SuperApp Personal Wallet. The digital driving license can be verified through the government verification channel at verify.gov.kh.

The initiative uses a QR Code-based digital credential that remains valid until the license’s printed expiration date and is intended to integrate licensing credentials with existing government verification infrastructure. MPWT is the issuing authority linked to the vehicle and driver licensing function, while the DG SuperApp provides the Personal Wallet used to deliver the digital credential.

Key Developments

Officials stated the digital driving license has been made available for citizens to request via the Personal Wallet on the DG SuperApp operated by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. Verification of authenticity is performed through the verify.gov.kh channel, and the digital credential carries a QR Code for scanning to confirm validity.

Operational Implications

Drivers can request the digital driving license through the DG SuperApp Personal Wallet and present the QR Code version for verification during routine checks. The digital credential is issued as an official government-backed format and is usable up to the license’s expiry date, aligning digital presentation with existing license validity rules.
