On 12 March 2026, Chau Sopheapheakbal, Director General of the General Department of Wastewater System of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, together with technical officials, participated in the 14th annual assembly on the 2025 work results and the 2026 work directions of the Cambodia Water Supply Association in Phnom Penh.
The assembly was chaired by Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and attended by representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, the European Union, partner organizations, CAPRED, Water.org, WaterAid, the association’s board and staff, professional members, and supporting members, with a reported total of 378 participants.
Background
The event was convened to review the association’s achievements in 2025 and to set its work directions for 2026. It also included the announcement of the composition of four committees covering advocacy, member services, finance and development, and training.
According to the official account, the assembly also addressed the implementation of a member and clean water sector development fund, experience-sharing on good practices, the benefits of association membership, feedback from members, and efforts to strengthen coordination among members. Participants also viewed an exhibition of new technologies.
