Background
On 27 February 2026, Dr. Ing Sophalet, Minister of Environment, visited Mondulkiri Province to review the bamboo processing project operated by Bambusa Global Ventures (BGV) in Koh Nhek district. Since 2010, BGV has collaborated with local communities to harvest, replant, and process natural bamboo into various products, aiming to promote sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation.

The project focuses on the sustainable management of bamboo resources within the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary. It involves community training and capacity building concerning bamboo resource management, harvesting, maintenance, and value-added processing.
