On 17 March 2026, His Excellency Bun Chanthy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, participated as a speaker at the Cambodia–Austria Business Forum held at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in Phnom Penh.
The forum brought together 19 enterprises from the Republic of Austria. It was presided over by His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the CDC, and Mr. Andreas Sumper, Deputy Head of Mission of the Austrian Embassy in Cambodia. Approximately 60 participants attended, including representatives from public and private sector institutions from both sides.
During the forum, the Ministry of Commerce presented business opportunities in Cambodia. According to the source, the presentation covered Cambodia’s regional and global trade integration, bilateral trade cooperation between Cambodia and Austria, trade promotion policies, and trade facilitation.
Representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries also gave sector-specific presentations. The participating Austrian companies were active in sectors including healthcare, energy, sports, hospitality, construction, banking, and railway infrastructure.
