Cambodia Digital Infrastructure: Ministry of Interior Integrates Administrative Services into CamDX

Background

The Ministry of Interior is updating its administrative services for digital delivery and integration into CamDX, a shared government data-exchange system.

CamDX enables interagency exchange of administrative records to support digital service delivery for citizens and businesses.

On 1 September 2026, General Director of Immigration Sok Veasna participated in inter-ministerial discussions chaired by State Secretary Mao Chantara at the Ministry of Interior headquarters to define which ministry services will be submitted for CamDX integration. The session included State Secretary Paw Ham Phan, other deputy directors, department heads, and relevant ministry units.

Key Developments

The meeting focused on identifying and standardizing Ministry of Interior administrative services that should be updated and incorporated into the CamDX shared-data system. Ministry officials stated the objective was to promote and streamline service delivery by updating and integrating services to produce faster and more transparent interactions for citizens and businesses through the national digital platform.

Institutional Role

The General Department of Immigration (GDI) attended as a line agency responsible for immigration-related administrative functions that may require data exchange with other ministries. The Ministry of Interior led the coordination process, inviting departmental directors and unit heads to align internal procedures with CamDX interoperability requirements.

Operational Implications

Integrating Ministry of Interior services into CamDX will require departments to map existing administrative processes and data fields for shared access, and to agree on technical and procedural interfaces for interagency data exchange. The ministry identified efficiency, speed, and transparency as guiding priorities for the integration effort.
