The General Department of Immigration (GDI) announced that 399 Vietnamese nationals, including 55 women, were deported from Cambodia on 17 and 18 January 2026 through the Prek Chak International Border Police Checkpoint in Kampot province.
According to the announcement, the deportation was carried out under instructions relayed through the Ministry of Interior leadership and implemented by Lieutenant General Sok Veasna, Director General of Immigration. The operation was conducted by the Investigation and Procedures Enforcement Department in coordination with officers at the Prek Chak International Border Police Checkpoint.
GDI stated that the 399 individuals had been detained in connection with illegal residence and unauthorized employment in Cambodia without passports.
