Background
On 18 March 2026, the Accounting and Auditing Regulator of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority, in collaboration with the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors and the University of Management and Economics Preah Sihanouk campus, organized a dissemination workshop on the Law on Accounting and Auditing and related regulatory instruments. The workshop was held for lecturers and students of the University of Management and Economics Preah Sihanouk campus.
The event was presided over by the Head of the Department of Ethics and Compliance of the Accounting and Auditing Regulator, representing the Director General, and was attended by leadership and officials of the Regulator, representatives of the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors, the Director of the University of Management and Economics Preah Sihanouk campus, as well as around 200 teachers and students.
Scope of Application
The workshop focused on disseminating the Law on Accounting and Auditing and related regulations, as well as Cambodian accounting and auditing standards, to lecturers and students in accounting-related disciplines at the University of Management and Economics Preah Sihanouk campus. The materials and presentations were intended for use in teaching and study within the university, particularly for those pursuing accounting and auditing specialties.
Key Provisions or Decisions
The dissemination workshop covered four main topics:
- The Law on Accounting and Auditing and its related regulations;
- An overview of accounting standards;
- The accounting and auditing profession in Cambodia;
- The Cambodian Certified Public Accountant training program.
On this occasion, the Head of the Department of Ethics and Compliance also provided the university with key sector reference documents for its library, including:
- The Accounting and Auditing Sector Development Strategy 2025–2035;
- The Chart of Accounts for accounting and auditing;
- The list of accounts in the accounting plan for enterprises;
- The 2024 annual bulletin.
These documents were handed over for long-term retention in the university library to support further study and understanding by students.
