Kampong Speu Provincial Police Investigate Traffic Police Over Alleged Improper Payment
The Kampong Speu Provincial Police Commissariat clarified an online allegation that traffic police demanded a US$200 payment from a truck operator on National Road 4 and confirmed the ABA account used belonged to a traffic police officer. Ten traffic police officers have been temporarily held at the personnel office for disciplinary action while further legal procedures are being pursued against the truck owner.

Cambodia and Maldives Sign Tourism Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding

CCF Directorate-General Reviews 2023 Plan and Draft Trustmark Evaluation Prakas
The Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General held a leadership meeting chaired by H.E. Phan Oun to review the 2023 work plan, laboratory performance and directorate-level staff and job descriptions. The meeting also discussed a draft prakas on evaluation procedures for issuing certificates and a trustmark for fuel and gas suppliers, establishment of an ad hoc team for drafting legal instruments, and participation of 165 officials in oath-taking to serve as judicial police under the Food Safety Law.

Ministry of Commerce Launches Market Studies and Single Digital Trade Platform
The Ministry of Commerce and the Australian Embassy in Cambodia launched two market information research documents and announced a Single Digital Platform to support trade and investment. The platform will include an FTA Portal, a self-certification system for certificates of origin, and an international rule-of-origin verification system to help businesses maximise benefits from Cambodia’s free trade agreements.
