The Ministry of Health held its annual review workshop on the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response system for 2026, assessing 2025 challenges and setting priorities for referral strengthening, postpartum hemorrhage management, and community outreach for antenatal care. The workshop also noted nationwide implementation of a new protocol and reported a decline in recorded maternal deaths from 79 cases in 2024 to 46 cases in 2025.
Cambodian and European Union officials held the 13th Subgroup Meeting on Trade and Investment in Phnom Penh on 24 March 2026 to review progress, discuss challenges, and identify solutions to strengthen bilateral trade and investment cooperation. The meeting included participation from the Ministry of Health and relevant institutions, with discussions also referring to export expansion and support for Cambodia’s graduation from least developed country status in 2029.
The Ministry of Health held discussions with a delegation from the Cambodia–Fukushima Friendship Association of Japan on health-sector cooperation and potential investment in Cambodia, including a possible private hospital project in Phnom Penh. The parties agreed to continue technical discussions and further study future cooperation opportunities.
