On 29 December 2025, Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence issued a statement rejecting an allegation by the Thai side that more than 250 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) had flown from Cambodia into Thailand’s sovereign territory.
The statement, delivered by Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, said Cambodia fully rejected the accusation. It stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia and Cambodian armed forces remained committed to implementing the joint declaration of the 3rd special meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee dated 27 December 2025, the joint statement on the peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand signed on 26 October 2025, and other related agreements.
The ministry also said that it, together with provincial administrations, especially those along the Cambodia-Thailand border, had issued instructions to strengthen and strictly prohibit all drone flights, and that no such drone activity had occurred.
