Background
On 18–19 May 2026 Secretary of State Khan Maner of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport led a technical mission to inspect the condition of National Road 10 and to conduct the formal one-year warranty handover. The inspection covered pavement condition, placement of drainage outlets, installation of traffic signs, and road markings across the project corridor.
The examined section of National Road 10 runs 197.36 kilometres with a 9-metre carriageway and connects points from National Road 48 (old) at PK1+700 in Smach Mean Chey (Khemara Phoumin city, Koh Kong province) through Promaoy commune (Veal Veng district, Pursat province) to National Road 57-7 at PK35+900 in Kanchang village (Samlot district, Battambang province). Representatives from the contractor CRBC and the project’s technical consultant participated in the handover and technical checks.
Key Developments
MPWT officials carried out targeted checks aimed at verifying compliance with the project’s technical specifications. Inspections included pavement quality testing, verification of drainage outlet placements, review of installed traffic signs, and assessment of road marking visibility along the route.
Institutional Role
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport conducted the mission as part of its operational responsibility to monitor completed road projects and to administer warranty-period procedures. The presence of contractor technical teams and consultant representatives indicates a coordinated handover process between the ministry and project implementers.
Operational Implications
Completion of the one-year warranty handover represents a formal step in project close-out that allows MPWT to confirm technical compliance before longer-term operational management. Routine checks of signage, drainage and markings during warranty handovers help identify maintenance needs that affect road safety and usability.
