On 6 March 2026 in Banteay Meanchey province, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications announced the official launch of the digital foundation curriculum at 18 additional target primary school locations under the mechanism of the National Committee for Promoting the Implementation of Key Measures in the Education Sector of the Royal Government.
The launch ceremony was presided over by So Visuddhi, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, together with Hay Hunleng, Director of Cabinet to Senior Minister Pech Sophoan and a member of the secretariat of the national committee. The event took place at Rohat Teuk Primary School in Banteay Meanchey province.
According to the ministry, the programme is intended to support the government’s key education measures by developing Cambodia’s digital human capital from the primary level and equipping students with basic digital knowledge and skills.
Background
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications stated that it worked closely with the secretariat of the national committee, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and Tech for Kids Academy to organize the digital foundation curriculum for Grades 4, 5, and 6, together with digital classrooms.
The programme includes classroom renovation and improvement, installation of computer equipment, smart televisions, security cameras, and internet systems, as well as the selection and training of digital teachers.
Programme Scope and Rollout
The curriculum focuses on digital talent development for children in areas including English for technology, computer basics, digital citizenship, online safety, mathematics and logic, coding, artificial intelligence, and problem solving.
In Phase 2 of the 2025-2026 academic year, the expansion to 18 additional target primary schools increased implementation of the programme to 60 target schools across 19 capitals and provinces nationwide.
The ministry reported total student participation of 17,988, including 8,796 girls.
