On 11 March 2026, the Ministry of Health conducted a site inspection and progress review meeting for the construction of the University of Health Sciences Hospital, Branch 3, located in Anlong Kngan Village, Khmuonh Commune, Sen Sok District, Phnom Penh.
The meeting was led by Dr. Yok Sambath, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health and project director for the hospital construction project. According to the ministry, the hospital is being developed under a concessional financing project of the Republic of Korea.
Background
The review meeting assessed implementation progress of the hospital construction project as of March 2026. Participants included representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, EDCF-Korean Eximbank in Cambodia, the University of Health Sciences, the construction company, technical construction consultants, and the Inje University team.
Key Project Update
According to the ministry, construction progress had reached 52.54 percent as of March 2026, which was reported to be 4 percent ahead of the planned schedule.
During the inspection and meeting, the project director commended the pace of construction and instructed the contractor to further strengthen construction quality and safety practices. The meeting also discussed key implementation issues raised by participants, with a call for all relevant parties to follow agreed principles and resolve outstanding matters in a timely manner so that the project can be completed on schedule and to the required quality.
