From 12 to 16 January 2026, the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) organized a workshop at the National Customs School on trade risk management and cargo targeting for 25 customs officers. The program was conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia through the Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The workshop focused on strengthening the capacity, knowledge, and technical skills of customs officials in managing trade-related risks, identifying high-risk cargo, developing risk indicators, and improving data collection and analysis methods related to risk assessment.
According to the GDCE, the event was opened on behalf of the Director General by Deputy Director General Chan Sopheap, who welcomed the participating delegation, experts, and trainees and acknowledged support from the U.S. government, EXBS, and CBP.
The GDCE also noted recent customs risk management developments, including the integration of its customs risk management system into ASYCUDA to support risk assessment processes, and the use of ASYHUB for postal and maritime cargo data submission.
