Background
The National Police of Cambodia and the Royal Gendarmerie mobilize provincial and municipal units to conduct coordinated anti-narcotics operations aimed at disrupting supply, transport, and use of illicit drugs across the country. On 1 June 2026, law-enforcement agencies recorded 65 narcotics cases resulting in the arrest of 238 individuals.
Seized evidence reported by authorities included 1,190.12 grams of methamphetamine (ice), 1,662.85 grams of methamphetamine (WY), 16,097.47 grams of ketamine, and 27,229.17 grams of MDMA. The operation combined activities by four police units and three Royal Gendarmerie units, with case types recorded as trafficking, transport/storage, and personal use.
Enforcement Actions
Authorities reported 65 separate cases on 1 June, broken down into 14 trafficking cases with 34 detainees (including 3 women), 30 transport/storage cases with 69 detainees (including 11 women), and 21 personal-use cases with 135 detainees (including 15 women). The largest single provincial seizures were reported from Preah Sihanouk, which accounted for substantial quantities of ketamine and MDMA alongside methamphetamine variants.
Provincial and municipal outcomes listed by the reporting agencies included Phnom Penh (small seizures and arrests for storage and use), Siem Reap (storage and multiple use arrests), Preah Sihanouk (13 trafficking cases, 22 storage cases, and 17 use cases with the heaviest aggregate drug quantities), and Takeo (minor trafficking and storage seizures). Royal Gendarmerie units in Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Speu, and Siem Reap also reported separate arrests and small seizures as part of the operation.
