Background
Narcotics enforcement records are a recurring public-security dataset because they show how police and related security units respond to illegal drug activity across provinces. Drug enforcement in Cambodia is carried out through criminal investigations, arrests, seizure of suspected narcotics, and case referral procedures handled by competent authorities.
Nationwide drug statistics from police agencies help document enforcement activity by offense type, location, suspect count, and seized substance. Public reporting on drug crackdowns also creates an official record of coordination between provincial police units and other law-enforcement bodies.
The National Police of Cambodia’s report for 30 April provides a dated enforcement snapshot covering trafficking, transport or possession, and drug use cases. The data is relevant for tracking patterns in public-security operations and institutional reporting on narcotics control.
Enforcement Actions
The National Police reported 23 drug-related cases nationwide on 30 April, with 73 suspects detained. The reported cases included 4 trafficking cases involving 18 suspects, 13 transport or possession cases involving 36 suspects, and 6 drug-use cases involving 19 suspects.
Authorities reported total seizures of 371.90 grams of methamphetamine ice, 21.67 grams of ketamine, and 20.04 grams of MDMA. The report identified eight participating units, including six police units and two gendarmerie units.
Institutional Role
The participating police units were listed in Battambang, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, Kandal, Svay Rieng, and Tboung Khmum. The gendarmerie units were listed in Battambang and Siem Reap.
Tboung Khmum accounted for the largest reported methamphetamine seizure among the listed police units, with 248.43 grams of ice. Siem Reap’s gendarmerie unit reported a trafficking case involving 7 suspects and 93.70 grams of ice.
Operational Implications
The report shows a multi-province enforcement operation involving both police and gendarmerie units. For long-term institutional tracking, the figures provide a dated reference point for the number of cases, suspects, substances seized, and participating enforcement bodies in Cambodia’s narcotics-control system.
