The police statement said the Criminal Police Department, acting under the direction of its leadership, coordinated with the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police to conduct an investigation and identify the suspects and the location where victims were being held.
On 1 April 2026 at about 21:20, police said they rescued the victim in the case and detained 11 suspects in Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province. The suspects were identified by police as 10 Chinese men and one Chinese woman.
The police statement said the group had allegedly arranged to meet the female victim for sexual services before detaining her and demanding money. The statement also said three victims were rescued in the operation.
