On 24 March 2026, the Kampot Provincial Police Commissionerate held a monthly meeting to review its March 2026 work results and define directions for continued implementation. The meeting took place at the provincial police headquarters in Kampot province under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Mao Chanmathurith, Commissioner of Kampot Provincial Police.
Participants included deputy commissioners, central office deputy chiefs, heads and deputy heads of specialized offices, the commander of Border Protection Battalion No. 601, the chief of the Tonhon bilateral border gate police post, district and municipal police inspectors and deputy inspectors from all nine cities and districts, and commune and sangkat administrative police post chiefs. The report states that 268 officials attended.
The meeting opened with a presentation of the March 2026 operational summary report by Colonel Dan Votha, Deputy Commissioner in charge of staff affairs. District and municipal police officials then provided comments on the report and proposed directions for further implementation.
According to the meeting summary, the provincial police commissioner stated that the overall security situation in Kampot province did not present any notable incident requiring special record during the reporting period. He nevertheless instructed district and municipal police leaders to continue monitoring local conditions closely and to provide guidance to residents regarding the broader economic situation in the country.
The meeting also reviewed criminal cases reported during the month. The summary noted homicide cases in Chumkiri district and Angkor Chey district, and stated that specialized police forces, in cooperation with the technical and scientific department, investigated and successfully solved both cases.
In the directions issued during the meeting, the commissioner instructed all police post chiefs to pay close attention to their duties at the local level, with particular emphasis on supervision of persons released from prison. The summary also stated that law enforcement forces in Kampot province had continued suppressing various offenses and that crime had declined.
