On 24 March 2026, Mr. Sem Samnang, Program Manager of the Water Resources Management and Agricultural Transition in Cambodia program (WAT4CAM), attended the 13th Cambodia-EU Joint Committee inter-ministerial meeting on behalf of H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation under the chairmanship of H.E. Kan Pharidh, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Participants included H.E. Ian HOSKINS, Ambassador of the European Union Delegation, Mr. Bryan Fornari, Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Cambodia, and senior representatives from relevant ministries and institutions.
According to the ministry’s statement, the purpose of the 13th Joint Committee meeting was to review and assess progress and challenges in the implementation of projects over the previous year under the European Union’s financing and grant framework. The meeting also raised a request for the European Union side to consider continuing financial and technical support across sectors in Cambodia, particularly in water resources and meteorology, which the statement identified as a priority sector for strengthening resilience to climate change.
