On 10 March 2026, at the Ministry of Health in Phnom Penh, Professor Kouy Vanny, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, led a health-sector working group in a meeting with a delegation led by Professor Li Quan, Vice President of Second Qilu Hospital of Shandong University of the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting focused on discussions to strengthen cooperation in medicine and scientific research. According to the Ministry of Health, both sides exchanged experience and discussed developments in the medical sector, health technology, and scientific research.
The Chinese delegation presented progress in medical technology and health-sector development in China. The Cambodian side highlighted the importance of knowledge-sharing, advanced medical techniques, human resource training, and strengthening health research capacity.
The Ministry of Health stated that the discussion also covered possible future cooperation, including exchanges of specialists and medical students, cooperation in health scientific research, development of medical technology and medical equipment, and promotion of investment in Cambodia’s health industry. Both sides expressed commitment to continue strengthening cooperation to support healthcare service quality and health-sector development in Cambodia.
