General Department of Immigration Deports 1,556 Foreign Nationals for Legal Violations
Between 16–19 March 2026, the General Department of Immigration deported 1,556 foreign nationals of 21 nationalities from Cambodia for various immigration and related offenses. The group includes 776 Vietnamese nationals linked to online scam activities, as well as others involved in illegal border crossing, staying without passports, using fake visas, and working without authorization.

National Assembly Secretariat Holds Roundtable on Local Legislative Bodies and Democracy
The leadership of the General Secretariat of the National Assembly organized a roundtable discussion to review research on the role of local-level legislative units in promoting democracy, with participation from nearly 200 officials. The discussion examined the relationship between inter-ministerial governance systems, local democratic development, and legislative governance, drawing on comparative observations from a study visit to Shanghai and field research in Kep and Kampot provinces.

General Department of Immigration Disseminates Prakas 12644 on Procedures for Foreign Children
The General Department of Immigration, together with the Mondulkiri Provincial Administration, held a dissemination meeting on Prakas No. 12644 concerning the form and procedures for registering newly born foreign immigrant children in the annex list and requesting recognition of foreign immigrant status for children aged 18 and above already listed under a foreign parent. The session gathered 101 provincial and local officials, including immigration, identity, and administrative police officers, as well as commune and sangkat leaders.
