Ministry of National Defence facilitates ASEAN Observer Team border verification and notes leadership handover
The Ministry of National Defence stated that on 28 March 2026 (09:35AM), the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) facilitated the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to observe, verify, and report on the border situation at the Boeung Trakuan Border Checkpoint, Banteay Meanchey Province, in the context of adherence to measures under the joint statement following the ceasefire. The Ministry also noted this mission reflects a handover of AOT chairmanship from Malaysia to the Philippines (as incoming rotating ASEAN Chair), and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to implement relevant Cambodia–Thailand agreements, including the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special GBC meeting (27 December 2025) and the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement (26 October 2025). General Department of Immigration deports 327 Chinese nationals linked to online scam cases
The General Department of Immigration reported that during the night of 27–28 March 2026 it deported 327 Chinese nationals (including 20 women) linked to online scam cases, as well as illegal stay and illegal work, in coordination with the Chinese Embassy. The deportations were carried out via a special flight through Techo International Airport, as part of stated efforts to eliminate technology-enabled crime and support victim rescue. (GDI · link)
National Police reports nationwide drug enforcement results for 28 March 2026
The General Commissariat of National Police reported 14 drug crime cases nationwide on 28 March 2026, with 54 suspects arrested (6 women). Reported case types included: trafficking (4 cases; 17 arrests), transport/possession (6 cases; 27 arrests), and use (4 cases; 10 arrests). Reported seizures included methamphetamine “Ice” (1,432.42g), methamphetamine “Wy” (1.77g), and ketamine (674.0g). (Police · link)
National Police reports nationwide road traffic accident statistics for 28 March 2026
The General Commissariat of National Police reported 4 road traffic accidents nationwide for the 24-hour period ending 14:00 on 28 March 2026, resulting in 7 deaths (3 women) and 4 injuries (2 serious, 2 minor). Reported contributing factors included speeding, failure to respect right-of-way, and drunk driving; the report also noted 6 instances of not wearing helmets. (Police · link)

Ministry of Interior digital authority warns of fake parcel-tracking links used for phishing and identity theft
The General Department of Digital Technology and Media warned of fraudulent links impersonating parcel-tracking systems and well-known e-commerce sites to capture personal data. The notice highlighted risks including theft of OTP codes to access bank accounts, takeover of social media accounts (e.g., Telegram, Facebook), and misuse or sale of victim data. The department advised verifying link sources, avoiding submission of sensitive information (bank details, passwords, phone numbers, OTP) on suspicious sites, and promptly reporting incidents to competent authorities or banks. Securities regulator discusses draft regulations to develop Cambodia’s derivatives market with IFC
