On 17 March 2026, the General Department of Immigration deported 776 Vietnamese nationals associated with online scam activities, following their arrest in Banteay Meanchey province. The group was removed via the international border checkpoints of Bavet in Svay Rieng and Trapeang Sre in Kratie under Cambodia’s strict legal measures against technology-driven crime.
